Malta’s interests always on top of the agenda – PM

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat participated at the Informal Summit on the Future of Europe in Sibiu, Romania. At the end of the summit, the Prime Minister said that Malta’s interests were always kept on top of the agenda.

In Sibiu, EU leaders met in Sibiu to renew their commitment for a citizen oriented Europe.

During the summit which fell on Europe’s Day discussions focused on the EU political direction for the next five years, until 2024.

The Prime Minister stated that we need to protect all those elements that unite Europe, and we could still protect the country’s interest whist supporting Europeanisation.

He also talked about the positive Maltese contributions at EU level.

Whilst in Romania, the Prime Minister also visited an investment by the Maltese Alf Mizzi & Sons has in the same Sibiu.
