Tista' taqra bil- Malti.
Malta’s capability to effectively fight money laundering does not seem to be in line with its risk profile and the growing size and complexity of its financial sector. This was stated in the report issued by the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (Moneyval)
The report mentions that whilst Maltese authorities have shown a broad understanding of the vulnerabilities within the system, there are a number of important factors that seem to be insufficiently analysed or understood.
40 recommendations limited to the analysis of technical criteria for each have also been included.
These recommendations vary from record-keeping, customer due diligence and confiscation and provisional measures amongst others.
