Malta registers 9th coronavirus death

A 68-year-old man who tested positive for coronavirus passed away on Friday night.

In a statement issued late on Friday night, the Health Ministry said that it was informed about the death a “few moments ago”.

The Ministry said that the patient was receiving care at Mater Dei hospital. He tested positive for COVID-19 on May 19. The man had a number of chronic health conditions. He passed away in hospital.

The Health Ministry appealed to the public to follow the health advice being given by the Health Department.

This morning the Ministry for Health announced that a 56-year-old man who also tested positive for coronavirus passed away.
