Malta opens its embassy in Japan

The Embassy of Malta in Japan has opened its doors from Monday, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday.

The decision to open a permanent representation in Tokyo was first announced in November 2018.

The opening of the embassy falls on the 55th anniversary since diplomatic relations were established on 15 July 1965.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs said that bilateral relations between Malta and Japan have intensified over the past few years.

The Embassy of Malta in Japan is presided by Ambassador Andre Spiteri.
