Malta needs a third political group – Cassola

Arnold Cassola, independent candidate and former Alternattiva Demokratika chairman, has stated that Malta needs a third political group, an Alliance for Malta. In a press statement, Cassola said that this third political group needs to be that group for whom all honest and decent Maltese can vote for in the forthcoming election, whether in 3 or 25 months’ time.

Cassola wrote that with the PN in total disarray, Prime Minister Robert Abela and the Labour Party can simply cross their arms, watch and as soon as the Nationalist Party starts to pick up the pieces, Prime Minister Abela calls a snap general election.

In his press statement Cassola said that it now clear more than ever that with the Nationalist Party falling down into pieces, Malta has no parliamentary opposition.

Arnold Cassola said that as things stand today, Prime Minister Robert Abela would be hitting three birds with one stone if he calls for a snap election. He explained how, according to him, Prime Minister Abela would get rid of Joseph Muscat, Konrad Mizzi and Chris Cardona as MPs, how Abela would win the election with a 15 seat majority on PN and thirdly Abela would allow Konrad Mizzi, Neville Gafa, Keith Schembri and Joseph Muscat “get away with all the crimes they committed and/or covered up for”, said Cassola.

Cassola concluded his press statement with an appeal to the public to not allow all this to happen for the sake of democracy.
