On Monday evening a special cabinet meeting discussed a tranche of measures and recommendations put together by the cream of Malta’s captains of industry.
Spearheaded by the Malta Chamber, 28 CEOs came together to discuss and propose to the government a way forward in the current and future post-COVID-19 scenario. This meeting was held after the chamber’s assessment of budget measures last week showed that the aid package put together by the government did not meet expectations at all. This position was re-iterated by Chamber President. David Xuereb in an exclusive interview on Newsbook.com.mt. In the interview, Perit Xuereb said that the government needs to formulate sector-specific aid, particularly to those industries which were suffering most.
Moving pro-actively, the Malta Chamber called together a meeting of 28 CEOs in the world of economy, accounting, finance, banking and entrepreneurship in Malta. In a meeting they put together opinion and recommendations to address the predicament industry is in due to the COVID-19 pandemic. First measures were communicated to the PM Monday afternoon ahead of his cabinet meeting.
