Local government gets €7 million towards capital projects

Local government has received almost €7 million from Central government for capital projects, the Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government and Communities has said.

Mr Parnis said that this shows the largest ever investment made in local government.

This money has been allocated to support 30 local councils in the execution of 32 capital projects across Malta and Gozo.

Just over half of the capital projects are finalised while many more, ‘are in an advanced stage’

Among these are projects being carried out by Xgħajra Local Council, with the council receiving €211,250.  Qrendi local council has also received funding from the capital projects fund, to the sum of €191,250.
