The Opposition is insisting for a lockdown. PN Leader Adrian Delia said that this measure is needed as the public needs to feel safe and is demanding for more security.

Adrian Delia addressed a press conference where all social partners, unions and associations representing various economic sectors were all present.

The Opposition reiterated the appeal made by Malta’s Medical Association (MAM) to shut down the airport and cruise port.

The Opposition also suggested that Maltese residents who are abroad are to be all repatriated back immediately then close all borders to all passengers.

Adrian Delia said that these are difficult times for our country and it is the time to protect each other. He also said that the public needs to limit social contact but that does not mean not communicating with each other.

Adrian Delia said that he meets every day with the task force set up by the Opposition to discuss and to brief him with the latest updates on coronavirus on a national and international level.
