Minister for Social Accommodation Roderick Galdes and Parliamentary Secretary for Citizenship and Communities Alex Muscat launched a cleaning programme for communal areas of housing estates.
On Monday, during a press conference, Minister Galdes and Parliamentary Secretary Muscat gave the details on this initiative aimed at assisting the most vulnerable people living in housing estates.
Minister Galdes said that this programme was launched in view of the coronavirus situation and government is aiming at cleaning the communal areas of 400 apartment’s block.
Around 100 workers will be involved.
Parliamentary Secretary for Citizenship and Communities Alex Muscat said that this programme will be financed through the Individual Investment Programme (IIP) Scheme to buy the necessary chemicals to sterilise and clean the communal parts. Muscat did not give the amount of money to be spent.
