The General Workers Union (GWU) has announced that it will be representing a group of professional health workers.
During a press conference, the Secretary-General of the GWU, Josef Bugeja said this is an important step for the union to represent workers within the health sector.
Josef Bugeja said that the professional health workers that will be represented by the GWU will be the nurses working within the emergency department at Mater Dei Hospital (MDH).
Bugeja did not disclose the number of nurses the union will be representing but confirmed that the 90 nurses work within the emergency department at MDH.
