Liturgical celebrations by Archbishop Scicluna for December, announced

Throughout the month of December, Archbishop Charles Scicluna will be celebrating mass during the week as well as on Sundays. These masses will be live-streamed on TVM2, Knisja.mt and Newsbook.com.mt. Furthermore, Mgr Scicluna will be celebrating a number of special masses throughout December.

The regular masses organised by the Archdiocese of Malta are to be livestreamed:

  • From Monday to Friday at 9.30am, from the Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop’s Curia. Time will be dedicated to the rosary following mass, This time of prayer will be rerun on TVM2 at 5.30pm, from Monday to Friday.
  • Every Sunday at 9.30am, livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube apart from the above-mentioned platforms. A rerun is shown on TVM2 at 6.30pm.

Furthermore, the Archbishop will celebrate mass in the following churches on the following dates:

Wednesday 2nd December, 6.30pm. St. John’s Co-Cathedral.

  • A thanksgiving mass as a celebration of a century since the founding of the Labour Party.

Sunday 6th December, 9.30am. St. Anthony’s Chapel on Manoel Island.

  • Installation of Dun Gordon Refalo as Gzira’s new parish priest. This will be live-streamed on TVM2.

Wednesday 9th December, 5.30pm. St. John’s Co-Cathedral.

  • The Archbishop will be celebrating a thanksgiving mass for Cardinal Mario Grech’s appointment. This will be live-streamed on TVM2.

Saturday 12th December, 7pm. St. John’s Co-Cathedral.

  • The Archbishop will be celebrating mass and leading the investitures for the The Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM).

Sunday 13th December, 9.30am. Santu Kristu Chapel, Għaxaq.

  • Installation of a new parish priest in Għaxaq’s – Dun Andrew Schembri. This will be livestreamed on TVM2.

Friday 18th December, 6pm. St. Paul’s Cathedral, Mdina.

  • A Christmas Mass for the members of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

Thursday 24th December, 5.15pm. St John’s Co-Cathedral.

  • The Archbishop will be presiding over Christmas eve celebrations.
  • Afterwards, there will be a Vigil in the Co-Cathedral.
  • At 11.15 pm, readings will begin and Christmas hymns will be sung.

Friday 25th December, 12am. St. Paul’s Cathedral, Mdina.

  • The Archbishop will celebrate the Pontifical Mass for the birth of Jesus Christ. This will be live-streamed on TVM2.

  • A thanksgiving mass as a celebration of a century since the Chapel has been built. This will be live-streamed on TVM2.

Sunday 27th December, 9.30am. St. Anthony’s Chapel, Manoel Island.

  • A mass to celebrate the feast of the Holy Family. This will be live-streamed on TVM2.

Thursday 31st December, 5.30pm. St John’s Co-Cathedral.

  • A thanksgiving mass, in celebration of the end of the year. The Te Deum will be sung. This will be live-streamed on TVM2.
