Watch: Lion’s Roar welcomes kindergarten students

Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

For the third consecutive year, the San Ġwann Kindergarten opened its’ doors and welcomed the little ones with a great celebration.  The theme chosen for this year was inspired from the Disney film – The Lion King.

The teachers wore colourful costumes and danced to the Hakuna Matata and other songs on this very special day of school.  Usually, this first day is characterised by a flood of emotions but such a special welcome managed to put a smile of everybody’s face.  After that, the pupils were lead to their respective classrooms passing through a beautifully made up jungle.

The San Ġwann Kindergarten hosts around 200 students and is situated in a spacious setting next to the Primary School.  This new block replaced the old Kinder that nowadays is being used by the Breakfast Club team and Klabb 3-16 (after school hours).
The Head of School, David Mario Caruana, took the initiative to give a radical make over to that part of the school which looked quite shabby so that nowit  is nicely decorated to accomodate students.

The revamp was financed thanks to the fund raising made through several activities – example Christmas Market and a Spring Fair – organised on a voluntary basis by the school staff and parents.

“I truly believe that school is the pupils’ second home.  Some of the students spend more time here rather than at their actual house.  They deserve to be in a warm, welcoming and decent place.”  D.M. Caruana.

Caruana gave a big thumbs up to all those that in some way or another made this project possible.
