Local councils have been given a contact directory of liaison officers from various authorities and entities who will serve as a contact point between the local government and official government entities.

This is a result of a seminar aimed at increasing the collaboration between local councils and government authorities. It is believed that this change will lead to a stronger coordination and a more effective service for citizens.

“This is just the beginning”

Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Silvio Parnis said that this initiative will increase cooperation, and that it is just the beginning of the local government reform. Parnis believes that there is an ongoing improvement within the Local Government Division, referring to the customer care services within the same division which, according to Parnis, have been drastically enhanced.
