The Malta Catholic Action has recently installed 98 solar panels on the roof of the Oratory in Mġarr as AKM continues to strengthen its commitment to ensure environmental sustainability.
In a statement the AKM said that 98 solar panels were installed on the roof of the Oratory in Mġarr. The centre is used for several different pastoral activities in Mġarr and is used by people of all ages. AKM explained that the panels have been installed over a space which was not being utilized. This was the second project by the Malta Catholic Action, the first being the installation of 38 solar panels on its premises in Birkirkara which is frequently used by Żgħażagħ Azzjoni Kattolika.
AKM stated that the project is another small step towards ensuring that the work carried out by the Church and its members, reflects the spirit of the words of Pope Francis in Laudato Si.
The Malta Catholic Action reiterated that its aim is to be of service to others, according to the needs and realities of the Maltese society. The organisation reiterated that its commitment remains to ensure that the services it provides have as little impact as possible on the environment.
