Tista' taqra bil- Malti.
The 18th edition of Oħloq Tbissima marathon raised €629,079 over the past weekend.
The fundraising marathon, Oħloq Tbissima, came to an end on Monday at midnight. The telethon was streamed live on Newsbook.com.mt and other TV channels including f Living, NET TV and ONE TV.
Oħloq Tbissima seeks to collect funds in aid of the MSSP missions in Peru, Pakistan, the Philippines and locally at St. Joseph Home in St. Venera.
During the marathon, the needs of the poor, and the extent to which, volunteers have to continue to provide food every day to hundreds of families who lost their jobs due to being locked up at home for the past few months, were explained.
While broadcasting the fundraising event, the experience of several Maltese missionaries in Peru, Pakistan and the Philippines were shared. Many have noted that the situation at present currently remains uncertain and they do not know when they would be able to return to work.
The organizers explained that if it were not for the missionaries helping out the people in the locality they were in, more people would have died of hunger than coronavirus.
