‘Lassana’s life mattered’; NGOs support vigil for murdered migrant

Over 60 NGOs, International organisations and citizens are supporting a remembrance ceremony tomorrow for Lassana Cisse Souleymane.

Souleymane from the Ivory Coast, was shot and killed in a hit and run shooting in Hal Far on the evening of April 6th. Two Ghanians were also shot during the incident.

The organisers say that they are standing in solidarity with the migrant community in Malta, ‘who continue to experience violence, who do not feel safe.’

‘We stand in condemnation of racism and wanton acts of hatred.’

‘Lassana’s life mattered. He mattered to his family, to his friends, and he mattered to us. Such brutal acts of violence cannot and must not be ignored or tolerated.’
