Tista' taqra bil- Malti.
For the first time in 27 years, ITS academics are going to have the same conditions as teachers in other post-secondary schools.
Following a year of discussions, the Institute for Tourism Studies (ITS) and the Malta Union for Teachers, signed a collective agreement on how ITS teachers are to be treated. This was approved by the absolute majority of teachers. This agreement is to last for 5 years.
The salary of ITS teachers will now be equal to that of teachers in other educational institutions. Academics who will be teaching for the first time will benefit from academic resources at the work place. Their conditions are to improve too.
With this agreement, ITS will be able to develop as an Institute within the International Tourism and Education Foundation on Hospitality. Therefore, part of the agreement was more flexible hours, between 8.30am to 11pm.
