A new book, titled Exploring Together the Treasures of the Sea, was launched by Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries Clint Camilleri during a visit to Rabat’s Primary School in Gozo.

The book is available in both languages, and is part of a promotional campaign by the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture in collaboration with the National Literacy Agency and the Department of Lifelong Learning and Employability.

A total of 19 schools are participating in this project. The project’s mascot is Roger the Seagull. The project is planned in three phases, class sessions, a promotional phase and will be brought to an end in an open weekend.

Camilleri said that the project aims to inform children about local fish and its sustainable consumption as well as the role of each and every individual in conserving fish.
The project is partly financed under the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund for 2014-2020.
