Jobs increase by 5.7%

The National Statistics Office explained that in the first quarter of this year employment in Malta rose by 5.7%.

According to the NSO, people who work amount to 217,259 an amount which is more than half the population of those aged 15 and over. Of these, 186,832 work full-time employment while 30,427 part-time work.

The rate of unemployment over the same period was 2.5% or 9,966 people unemployed while the number of people not in employment amounted to 172,092.
