A 24-year-old man was jailed for six months after he admitted to attempted bribery of immigration official upon landing. The man was arraigned on Sunday.

Endrit Hushi, an Albanian national, tried slipping €20 note to an immigration official to help clearing his brother at the airport upon landing.

Hushi folded the note in his brother’s passport, when he thought that the latter was going to be stopped by immigration officials and not allowed to enter Malta, after he was stopped and asked some questions.

Police Inspector Darren Buhagiar prosecuted while the man was assisted by legal aid lawyer Dustin Camilleri.
