Italian Economy Minister Giovanni Tria agreed to seek “solutions” for the ruling parties’ plans to include tax cuts and welfare spending in next year’s budget, the League party said on Friday.

Tria met earlier on Friday with the prime minister and others from the ruling 5-Star Movement and League to try to overcome an impasse over the 2019 budget.

“It was a very positive meeting and Tria acknowledged the political will of the League and 5-Star Movement to make important changes, from the citizen’s income for Italians to pension reform,” the League said in a statement.

“There is a commitment by everyone to perfect the proposals and Tria agreed to search for solutions,” the statement said.
