Mark Gasan, CEO of the Gasan Group said that it is not true that in the past few days he was called in for questioning by the police. Gasan was speaking to Newsbook.com.mt who asked him to confirm widespread rumours that he had been called in for questioning as part of the investigations currently underway into the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia and into money laundering.
Newsbook.com.mt sent questions to Mark Gasan who replied forthwith. Gasan Group is a shareholder in GEM Holdings Ltd which is, in turn, a shareholder in the Electrogas consortium.
Informed sources told Newsbook.com.mt that Mark Gasan’s name may have cropped up during the Yorgen Fenech interrogation. Fenech has been answering questions to the police since Thursday morning when he was apprehended fleeing the island on his luxury cruiser. Fenech is also the owner of the Dubai-based offshore company 17 Black. Fenech was given Police Bail twice, the second time after being hospitalised for chest pains when all interrogations were suspended for 24h on doctors orders.
