Instagram founders resign

Stock market shares remained buoyant for Instagram, Tuesday, as Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, the co-founders of the photo-sharing app Instagram, resigned. The app creators plan to leave the company in the coming weeks.

Instagram has been operating as a company within Zuckerberg’s Facebook and these high profile resignations adding to the challenges facing Facebook which has seen its audiences world-wide but particularly in the US, stagnate.

Systrom and Krieger, who have known each other since 2010, did not give a reason for stepping down, but said in a statement “We’re planning on taking some time off to explore our curiosity and creativity again.”
