The Gozo Tourism Association is expecting an influx of visitors from Malta during the festive season. Indications show that majority of accommodation is already booked.
Sources close to the industry told Newsbook.com.mt that farmhouses are almost full, an indication that many will be partying in Gozo for Christmas and the New Year.
This festive period Gozo will experience another influx of visitors crossing over from the mainland to the sister Island to celebrate, especially the beginning of a New Year. The Gozo Tourism Association declared in anticipation to the coming Festive season.
In a statement celebrating the beginning of the festive season the association reminded how during the past months Covid-19 affected operators in Gozo . Withforeign travel disrupted and the airport closed for a long period of time tourism was negatively impacted heavily.
The Gozo Tourism Association in the statement confirmed, with foreign tourism disrupted, the domestic market is providing an opportunity to mitigate some of the loses.
The association reminded both the operators and the visitors to the island that it is very important to adhere with health protocols to avoid the spread of coronavirus.
‘The Gozo Tourism Association believes that being responsible and acting diligently at all times during this holiday period is the interest of the entire nation and the best gift one can donate for the festive period’, concluded the statement.
Those that will be making the crossing between the island during this month, will be donating to Malta Community Chest Fund, 25c from each ticket will be going to the charity fund.
