Activists from Occupy Justice have taken flowers from the Valletta Green Festival at the St George’s Square to the foot of the Great Siege monument in Great Siege square after the infiorata was over. Laying the flowers at the monument, the activists spelled out the word ‘justice’.
In a statement Occupy Justice explained that they felt that the best to commemorate the event which came to an end on Sunday, was to re-purpose the flowers.
The end of the festival coincides with Mother’s Day, with Occupy Justice stating that slain journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia was first and foremost a woman and a mother.
The activists reminded the public to join in for their monthly protest vigil on 16 May at 7.30pm at the Great Siege Square, saying that 19 months have passed since the brutal assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia and that the master minds behind the murder are still on the run.
