Infant hit by fireworks during Xewkija feast

Fireworks hit and injured four people, including a 16-month-old child during Xewkija’s feast. This incident took place the last Thursday at about 11pm at St. Bartholomew Street, Xewkija.

According to the sources who spoke to, for some reason the fire went towards the direction of people, and hit the baby’s pushchair, two other men and his daughter which was nearby. Commotion and panic hit those present when the fireworks started hitting the pushchair.

An ambulance arrived on the spot and immediately took those affected in hospital. It seems that none of the persons suffered serious injuries.

Magistrate Dr Paul Coppini, opened a magisterial inquiry and took a number of pyrotechnics experts in the field to determine what led to the accident.
