During this month, visitors at Fort St Elmo can enjoy the opportunity to watch the historical re-enactment of the ‘In Guardia’ parade.
This parade involves around 50 re-enactors who portray an authentic event that happened regularly in Malta’s main fortifications during the rule of the Order of St John. The re-enactment includes the inspection of the Fort and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order who was in charge of military affairs. Moreover, all the participating re-enactors who are dressed in époque coloured costumes will perform a military drill to demonstrate the garrison’s state of readiness.
The ‘In Guardia’ historical re-enactments will continue to take place on Sunday 20th and 27th October.
On these days, Fort St Elmo will open at 10.00 am. The In Guardia parade will take place at 11.00 am and at 12.00 pm noon. The National War Museum will open at noon.
Prices: In Guardia only: € 7 for adults, seniors and students, €3 for children; In Guardia and National War Museum ticket: €15 adults, €12 seniors and students, €7 children.
Tickets for the National War Museum only, at the normal admission prices, will be available on the day, from noon onwards.
