Impressive turnout during Tas-Silġ Open Day

Around 600 visitors called at the archaeological site of Tas-Silġ during an Open Day which was organised by Heritage Malta in collaboration with the Missione Archeologica Italiana, the Italian Embassy in Malta and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura.

This event offered an exclusive opportunity for the public to get to know the site with the guidance of members of the Missione who have been excavating and researching this site since the 1960s.

Various discoveries along the years revealed the remains of a multi-period sanctuary ranging from the Neolithic, to the Phoenician, Punic, Roman and Byzantine periods.
