Prime Minister and Partit Laburista leader Joseph Muscat told party activists that he is very serene, during an interview on the party’s radio station on Monday afternoon. Muscat who announced that he intends to resign after a new Partit Laburista leader is elected on 12 January, said that many have come forward to give him their support.
Muscat said that the country needs stability, acknowledging that over the past four days, the country stopped waiting for new developments. He added, that this is a sign that the country will continue to move on.
The outgoing prime minister said that in the 41 days left he will only handle day-to-day running of the government.
