The second edition of the I Am Active campaign attracted more than 250 participants to contribute to a noble cause.
Charmaine Attard, General Manager at AX Care Simblija Care Home, presented a cheque of €1500 to the president of the Parkinson’s association, Nathalie Muschamp.
During the presentation, Ms Attard echoed the importance of staying active and thanked all the organisers and sponsors who worked tirelessly to make this year’s event a success. Ms Muschamp joined Ms Attard in thanking everyone behind the initiative and the participants who made the event one to remember.
Step Up for Parkinsons is a non-profit organisation which holds regular free movement classes to people suffering from Parkinson’s disease. The classes helps achieve better coordination, balance and quality of life, through community support, music and movement.
Staying active throughout the years develops better sleeping patterns, stimulates your appetite, improves one’s strength and balance, and may reduce the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart disease or dementia and falls.
