Hurricane Sally hits US south coast

Hurricane Sally has moved near the Florida-Alabama line with 105 mph winds and rain, killing at least one person, destroying homes and forcing the rescue of hundreds.

American news portals are reporting that the hurricane has pushed inland and it could be slow and disastrous.

Until now, one person has been killed in Orange Beach, Alabama and one person is reported missing.

Last month at least six people were killed as Hurricane Laura smashed parts of  US state Louisiana and parts of Texas. Winds had reached up to 240km/h causing damages including power cuts to more than half a million homes.
