More than €900,000 were raised until 9.30pm on Tuesday during The Feast of Generosity event aimed to collect funds for Dar tal-Providenza. The fundraiser comes to an end at around midnight.
The Feast of Generosity reaches over €200,000
With the Feast of Generosity event now having been open for just over 3 and a half hours, it has now reached over the €200,000 mark.
The Feast of Generosity reaches over €100,000
Since the opening of the Feast of Generosity, the fundraiser for Dar tal-Providenza, has managed to reach over the €100,000 mark before Noon.
The Feast of Generosity kicks off now
The annual fundraising marathon for the disabled person’s charity; Dar tal-Providenza in Siġġiewi, starts today from 9AM.
The Feast of Generosity, ‘Festa Ġenerożità’ allows the public to visit and spend time with those with disabilities and raising money to continue providing care and support to Dar tal-Providenza’s patients.
The telethon will be opened with a mass celebrated by Archbishop Charles Scicluna at the Home Chapel, broadcast live. The event is expected to end at midnight.
Speaking on RTK 103FM and Newsbook.com.mt, Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea Curmi appealed to the people living in Malta and Gozo to be generous towards Dar tal-Providenza during the upcoming annual fundraising activity
He explained that the residence required the people’s generosity to raise the necessary funds which would enable it to continue with its mission.
Speaking to Newsbook.com.mt Mgr Galea Curmi appealed to the general public not only to give their donations on 1 January but to continue helping the residence throughout the year.
