Households get inefficient appliances replaced

The Energy and Water Management Agency has replaced old appliances with more energy efficient models in 250 households.

During a press conference at the Water Services Corporation, it was explained how a project was launched in 2017 through collaboration between the Energy and Water Management Agency and LEAP (which aims to combat social exclusion). 470 house visits were conducted and 277 households were identified as needing an appliance replacement, as the residents were unaware that their old appliances were consuming high energy volumes.

The appliances exchanged were washing machines, air conditioning units and fridge-freezers and the older appliances were disposed of in an approved WasteServ site.
