Help save Australian wildlife at top chefs dinner

Some of the island’s best-known chefs will each present a course for What’s Cooking Malta’s evening of food and entertainment in aid of wildlife affected by the Australian fires.

Foodies and animal lovers will have the chance to enjoy a delicious six-course dinner prepared by some of Malta’s top chefs, while also helping wildlife in Australia affected by the devastating fires earlier this year.

Organised by What’s Cooking Malta, the island’s fresh lifestyle and food guide, the multi-course dinner will be held for one-night-only on Monday 24th February at Manouche in St Julian’s.

All funds raised throughout the evening will be put towards the Wildlife Victoria charity, which helps and protects Australian wildlife, and provides the local community with a Wildlife Emergency Response service.

Guests can choose the full-vegan or not-fully-vegan six-course menu option, both with exquisite wine pairing. The evening’s extensive selection will feature courses prepared by Charles Pintonino and Rafel Sammut of Briju and the Pulled Meat Company, Christian Borg from Ramla Bay Hotel, Alain James Grech from The Chef’s Table and Andrew Vella from Rebekah’s. Zoran Bogdanovski from Elba, previously of Caviar & Bull and The Thirsty Lawyer, will also prepare a course, while Jonathan Brincat from Noni will create a mouth-watering selection of canapés. Dishes include Angnolotti Filled With A Liquid Pecorino, Chicken And Rosemary Jus, Slow-Cooked Beef Sirloin, and Pan Seared King Oyster Mushroom Scallops.

Sponsors for the lavish event will include Marsovin and Charles Grech supplying the wine, MB Imports supplying the vegan wines, Brass & Knuckle supplying the meats, Adam’s Fish Shop supplying the fish, and many others who are covering the vegetables and various ingredients. PR company WriteMeAnything is sponsoring the PR and VIP guestlist for this special occasion, while BLOOM is sponsoring with branding and artwork creation.

Guests will also enjoy entertainment by internationally-renowned Maltese magician and illusionist Brian Rolè between courses, and a raffle with prizes including a two-night stay at the Marriot Hotel Malta, a voucher for Shakinah Restaurant in Ta’ Xbiex, and a voucher for Capo Crudo in Valletta.
