A healthcare worker has been tested positive to coronavirus following a number of swab tests which were carried out yesterday. This information was published by the Ministry for Health.
The healthcare worker is currently working in one of the COVID-19 swabbing centres.
The Ministry for Health said that authorities are regularly conducting swab tests on all healthcare workers as they are also at risk of contracting the virus.
The healthcare worker had no symptoms of coronavirus and during working hours he was wearing the protective clothing and therefore individuals who underwent a swab test were not at risk.
The Ministry for Health said that it is probable that the person contracted the virus from the community.
Health authorities have ordered the disinfection of the swabbing centre.
