The Gżira Health Centre will close its doors on 14 May ahead of the structural and renovation works planned for the centre, the government announced on Monday evening.
The works will be co-financed using funds allocated from National Development and Social Funds (NDSF). The project will be ready by 2021.
Residents assigned to the Gżira Health Centre are asked to make use of a temporary health centre on St Albert Street.
The temporary health centre will be open from Monday to Sunday and will have the same opening hours. The services offered to patients at the temporary centre include: GP services, blood tests, revision of medical results (which is temporarily suspended due to the restrictive measures related to coronavirus), diabetes clinic (the service is also temporarily suspended due to the coronavirus restrictive measures) and a treatment room, amongst others.
All other services normally offered through appointment will be available through the Floriana, Birkirkara and Mosta health centre. The Client Support Centre at the Primary Healthcare will coordinate the scheduling of appointments. Patients will be duly informed.
One may reach out to the Client Support Centre on 21231231 or 21222444.
