Graziella Castillo has been chosen to become Aġenzija Appoġġ’s new director replacing Remenda Grech.
In a statement, the Foundation for Social Welfare Services announced the appointment, explaining that Grech would now be focusing on the Alternative Care Directorate.
Castillo’s appointment comes after a recruiting process led by a recruiting company, the foundation explained.
Following her graduation from the University of Malta, Castillo joined Aġenzija Apoġġ as a social worker in 2000. At present, she is reading for a Master’s degree in Youth and Community Studies.
Over the past year she served as an assistant director for services which are now part of the Alternative Care Directorate. She also headed national services offered by the foundation including the national Supportline 179, as well as national campaigns such as Be Smart Online and Child Web Alert.
The foundation said that Castillo also does voluntary work.
In her new role, Castillo will be assisting employees to grow through continuous professional development. This will ensure that the services provided by the agency are improved.
The appointment came into effect on 1 January.
