Gozitan NGOs and private businesses alike are being offered cash grants to upgrade their premises through a Gozo Ministry scheme seeking to boost the island’s potential as a business travel destination.
The government will be providing eligible NGOs and businesses a maximum of €50,000 and €25,000 respectively to upgrade their premises, covering 50% of the costs incurred. The beneficiaries would need to provide facilities with a seating capacity of at least 150 people.
Projects that are in progress can still benefit from the scheme, though finished projects will not be eligible.
Announcing the scheme, Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri explained that it was in line with the aims set out in the government’s 2020 Budget.
“We had said that we wanted to improve Gozo’s facilities to welcome business travel, and that is what we are doing today.”
