A testing centre for coronavirus will be set up on Gozo, Minister Clint Camilleri announced saying that preparations were underway.
On Monday seventeen confirmed cases were announced, bringing the number up to 107. Since the first positive case of coronavirus was registered in Malta, two individuals have fully recovered while an elderly man is still in intensive care after developing pneumonia.
The Minister for Gozo published a photo of the former Heliport VIP Lounge on the sister island where the new testing hub will be set up. Works on the new testing hub were carried out in 72 hours, Camilleri explained.
On Saturday, Newsbook.com.mt revealed that swab tests taken in Gozo were brought to Malta in order to process the results.
Health Minister Chris Fearne announced that more community testing centres will be set up around the islands.
