The Episcopal Consecration of Gozo’s 9th Bishop Anton Teuma is to be held on the 21st August at 5.30pm at the Rotunda St. John Baptist Church, Xewkija. It was originally going to be held on 13 September, however the date was changed due to the unfolding coronavirus situation in Malta.

This was confirmed by a source within Gozo’s Archdiocese, as the programme announced just last week is undergoing updates. The Gozo Archdiocese had outlined at the time that the programme is subject to change due to developments related to COVID-19.

On Thursday 20 August, prayers will be said behind closed doors at the John Paul II Family Institute, Victoria, in preparation of the Episcopal Consecration.

A Thanksgiving Mass for Mgr Mario Grech will be held on 27 August at 6.30pm at the Rotunda St. John Baptist Church.

The inauguration programme will come to an end with the Solemn Entry of Mgr Anton Theuma on Wednesday 16 September at 6.30pm at the Cathedral of the Assumption in Victoria.
