Govt cannot guarantee repatriation flights post 12th April

Government announced that all Maltese nationals who are currently abroad should return to Malta by Sunday 12th April.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry, in a statement, said that Maltese nationals can return to Malta through flights from London Heathrow airport of the main airport in Frankfurt.

The Foreign Ministry said that they can board any commercial flight available and that a copy of their passport and the flight itinerary must be sent to sitcen.mfea@gov.mt.

Government said will not be responsible for all those who choose to not return to Malta by Sunday 12th April and that the government cannot guarantee a repatriation flight for them post 12th April.

This also applies to third-country nationals who have a Maltese residence permit.

Government has also announced that all Maltese nationals who are currently in a country which has imposed a national lockdown are to inform the Ministry on sitcen.mfea@gov.mt.
