A French youth who is a resident in Malta was accused of insulting and threatening the police. The youth pleaded guilty to the charges and was fined €1000. He was also given a suspended 6-month sentence.
The youth was accused of threatening the police, breaching public peace and disobeying police orders. He was also accused of being drunk and incapable of taking care of himself in a public place. The police were called to the scene after reports of a man behaving aggressively, despite their efforts to calm down the situation, the accused had to be restrained and taken to the police station in St Julians’.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charges and admitted that what he had done was a big mistake.
