Four die of coronavirus

Four individuals aged between 61 and 99 have died of coronavirus at Mater Dei Hospital, the health authorities announced on Tuesday evening.

The first case concerns a 74-year-old man who tested positive on 4 November and died on Monday at Mater Dei Hospital.

The second case concerns a 61-year-old man who tested positive on 23 October and died on Monday at Mater Dei Hospital.

The third case concerns a 83-year-old man who tested positive on 30 Ocotober and died overnight at Mater Dei Hospital.

The fourth case concerns a 99-year-old man who tested positive on 5 November and died overnight at Mater Dei Hospital.

Whilst offering its condolences to the victims’ families, the Health Ministry has urged the public to follow the regulations aimed at curbing the spread of the virus.

Malta registered 153 new infections on Tuesday, with the number of active cases surpassing the 2,000 mark.

The pandemic has claimed 85 lives.
