Two other individuals were arrested in connection with the fatal building collapse which happened on Monday afternoon.
In a statement the police said that two men who acted as contractors and were tasked by the developer were arrested on Tuesday. This means that a total of six person were being held under arrest in connection with the incident.
On Monday, as rescuers sought to save Miriam Pace who was buried under the rubble, four men were arrested; the architect, the site technical officer and two employees who worked on site.
Miriam Pace, 54, of Ħamrun who was found dead after an intensive eight hour search and rescue operation. The residence laid adjacent to a site where there were excavation works going on.
Several police officials and members from the civil protection department were deployed in an 8 hour search and rescue operation, which ended in the most tragic way, with the discovery of the lifeless body of Miriam Pace.
Members from the Police Victim’s support were also deployed to assist the victim’s family.
The Ħamrun district police are investigating all those involved for possible criminal actions, including negligence, that may have caused the family home to collapse, taking Pace’s life.
A separate magisterial inquiry is being led by Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit.
