The Federation of Hunting and Conservation (FKNK) has no title to Miżieb and Aħrax tal-Mellieħa.
This was once more confirmed, after independent candidate and former Alternattiva Demokratika chairman Arnold Cassola filed yet another request under the Freedom of Information Act with the Office of Principal Permanent Secretary.
Cassola had already filed similar requests with the Environment and Resource Authority and the Lands Authority, both of which had confirmed that no such title existed.
To Cassola’s fresh request: “A copy of any agreement/concesssion/lease/emphyteusis/title of ownership/encorachment/possession/mere tolerance management and/or services and/or consultancy agreement entered into between the Prime Minister and the Federazzjoni Kaccaturi Nassaba Konservazzjonisti FKNK,”; the Office of the Principal Permanent Secretary replied “this Public Authority is not in possession of the requested documents.”
MaltaToday had revealed that Prime Minister Robert Abela had resurrected a proposal to hand over l-Aħrax tal-Mellieħa, and Miżieb to the FKNK under a formal management agreement. The local newspaper had reported that the proposal was brought up during a Cabinet meeting last April and met no resistance.
