First case of coronavirus confirmed in Palermo

The first case of coronavirus has been reported in Palermo, Sicily. According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Monday evening, a woman from Bergamo has been tested positive to the virus.

The woman was on holiday in Palermo. She is now being held in quarantine at Cervello hospital.

This is the first case of coronavirus reported in the south of Italy.

Another case of coronavirus was reported in Firenze but has not yet been confirmed by Italian Health Authorities.

According to Italian media, Monday afternoon, a 60-year-old man was admitted to Santa Maria Nuova hospital. Tests have shown, that the man who has recently travelled to Asia was positive to coronavirus Covid-19.
