There is growing concern that the inauguration of Joe Biden as President in the US disrupted by armed protests. This concern was aired by the FBI following reports that armed groups are planning to gather at all 50 state capitols and in Washington.

The FBI issued this warning as security for the event is stepped up. Joe Biden and Vice-President-elect Kamala Harris are expected to take the oath of office at a ceremony at the Capitol, the same site which last week was attacked by a mob of Trump’s radical supporters.

Security officials are resolute in their efforts that there will be no repeat of the scenes of last week.

Meanwhile Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives continued with their efforts to to impeach Donald Trump, unless he steps down or is removed before then, after drawing up charges accusing him of inciting insurrection ahead of last week’s siege of the Capitol.
