Families evacuated after major fire in Manchester

More than 30 houses were evacuated near Greater Manchester in northern England as many fire fighters were struggling to extinguish large fires that swept a moors range.

Fire swept across several hill areas in Saddleworth and extreme heat could be felt around the area.

Police said they evacuated 34 houses from the village of Carrbrook, located west of the fire.

This fire has been declared a major accident, and schools will remain closed and residents are being asked not to leave their homes.

It is not yet known what were the causes of this fire.
