Fact file: Ospreys #onthemove

Name: Osprey (Arpa)

Type: Ospreys

Where to see: Can be seen flying over from anywhere during migration. Mostly recorded from Buskett Woodland and Dwejra.

Migration facts: Most of the Ospreys we get in Malta come from Scandinavian countries and it is common to see this regular migrant flying high up in singles from mid-August to November before it reaches central Africa. If you are lucky, you may see this large raptor fishing at Salina Nature Reserve or Għadira Nature Reserve. Up to five birds can be spotted on good days.
