Extensive restorations planned for Mtarfa

The Minister of Transport Ian Borg has announced that there will be a € 1.5 million investment to restore Mtarfa, set to be complete by 2022.

Minister Borg made the announcement at Mtarfa Clock Tower, joined by Minister for European Affairs and Gender Helena Dalli, Minister for Justice, Culture and Local Government Owen Bonnici, and Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government and Communities Silvio Parnis along with Mtarfa Mayor Daniel Attard.

Borg said, ‘Today we are here because we will see a regeneration of a substantial space of about 4,000 square meters, for the Mtarfa community, a direct investment in the quality of life of residents.’

The Minister for European Affairs and Gender Helena Dalli, explained that the project of the clock tower and the regional cultural center, will also be restored thanks to an additional investment of around €500,000 financed by the European Union. Dalli explained that this demonstrated the success of Malta’s membership in the European Union.
